A 13-year-old from Northern Virginia is leading a national effort to raise awareness of bullying. Viraj Puri’s site, Bullyvention, aims to “use technology to bring lawmakers and teens together.” His site is the first to team up with the U.S. House of Representatives’ Congressional Anti-Bullying Caucus.
Bullyvention uses “Heatmaps” to note places in the United States where reports show bullying has been a problem. It also includes key facts about bullying, video interviews with elected officials, and offers ways to get involved and become an activist.
According to an article about the site, “Puri says he took action after his brother was verbally and psychologically bullied in middle school.”
