Educational Programs Coordinator
Marcos Martínez is Educational Programs Coordinator at the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC), an organization that works with schools, business, and communities to achieve success through inclusion. In his role, Marcos is responsible for VCIC’s middle school and high school programs, including retreats, forums, and customized workshops.
Moving to Richmond in 2014, Marcos spent three years working for Higher Achievement, where he was the direct recruiter for volunteer mentors. Marcos developed training for staff who engaged mentors and volunteers, and he was responsible for increasing retention and overall mentor experience satisfaction. Previously, Marcos served two years in AmeriCorps, including one year working with FEMA across the southern U.S., most notably at the Center for Domestic Preparedness.
A native of south Texas, Marcos pursued a B.A. in Mass Communication at the University of Texas Pan American, where he also dedicated countless hours to stage theatre.
