Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the annual Peninsula Diversity Dialogue Day, scheduled for January 20 and January 21, 2021! At this time, no more volunteers are needed. Please see VCIC’s volunteer page for other opportunities!
Thanks to support from Dominion Energy, this program is offered for free to local schools! While at DDD, groups of 15-20 high school students experience workshops facilitated by co-facilitator teams made up of community facilitator-volunteers. Facilitators come from a variety of backgrounds and professions, all with a shared interest in working with young people to promote inclusion and respect.
As a volunteer, you will be asked to commit to co-leading a small group of students through their virtual sessions on either January 20 or January 21 from 9:30am-2:30pm. There will be scheduled breaks for stretching and for lunch during these times. Regardless of which date you choose, facilitators are also required to attend a mandatory Facilitator Orientation on Thursday, January 14 from 5:30pm – 8:00pm. A Zoom link will be sent in advance of this session.
Please complete the application by December 18. Once you are registered, you will receive the link to attend the training session on January 14.
If you have any questions, please contact VCIC’s Hampton Roads Program Manager Paula L. Bazemore.
We look forward to the chance to work with you!
