Thank you for your interest in attending the Virtual Institute for Belonging and Equity (VIBE), scheduled for August 4, 5 & 6, 2021! This free program is conducted by the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and made possible thanks to the support of Atlantic Union Bank and the R.E.B. Foundation.
Over the course of three days, VIBE participants will be led through a series of activities designed to move through a process of awareness to action. These live, virtual workshops will be guided by trained facilitators so the group can explore personal experiences with discrimination and develop conflict resolution skills. Students will leave the program with tools to work toward school and community environments that are free from the distractions of prejudice, stereotypes, and bigotry.
Participants must commit to attending the full program from 9:00am – 3:00pm each day. There will be scheduled lunch and stretch breaks. Those who attend all three days in full will be entered into a raffle to win a prize.
Application forms are due June 15. VCIC will select up to 30 participants for the program. All applicants will be notified of their application status on July 1.
Those who are selected will be expected to submit signed permission forms by July 15. This form is required in order to be eligible to participate.
If you have any questions, please contact VCIC’s Educational Programs Associate Emma Cox at ecox@inclusiveVA.org.
We look forward to the chance to work with you on August 4-6!
