Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 16th annual Lynchburg Diversity Dialogue Day, which will be held at the University of Lynchburg on March 10, 2025! Held in Virginia since 2010, this program is designed to bring high school students together from across a geographic area to discuss ways to make their schools more inclusive. Reports from previous programs can be found here.

Thanks to support from Centra Health, this program is offered for free to local schools! While at DDD, groups of 25-35 high school students experience workshops facilitated by co-facilitator teams made up of community facilitator-volunteers. Facilitators come from a variety of backgrounds and professions, all with a shared interest in working with young people to promote inclusion and respect.

As a volunteer, you will be asked to commit to co-leading a small group of students through their sessions on March 10, 2025 from 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM. There will be scheduled breaks for stretching and for lunch during these times. Facilitators are also required to attend a mandatory facilitator training held at the University of Lynchburg on March 9, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Training will be discussion-based and participatory. Dinner will be provided at the training.

Please complete the application by February 7, 2025. If you are selected, you will receive an email with information regarding training in the week prior to training.

If you have any questions, please contact Amanda Hurwitt at [email protected].

We look forward to the chance to work with you!
