Programs for Faculty & Staff

Professional Development

VCIC’s evidence-based and highly interactive professional development for faculty and staff can support individual departments or mixed cohorts. Sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of a specific institution, and can be designed as a series or a single offering. Sample topics include:

Programs for Students

Allies Institute

The Allies Institute is an intensive four-day, three-night retreat for college students and faculty/staff featuring interactive workshops, intense small group discussions, and experiential exercises. At the end of the program, they develop action plans to share their learning with their peers at the sponsoring institutions. Allies has been credited with fostering campus climates of inclusion by serving as a catalyst for heightened awareness, dialogue, and programming on diversity issues. 

 

Customized Workshops

College students who participate in VCIC customized workshops build knowledge, motivation, and skills as inclusive leaders at their institutions. Sessions can be tailored to serve diverse student leadership groups including orientation advisors, resident assistants, student government, Greek Life, and more. They can be designed as a series or a single offering. All programs are highly interactive. Sample topics include:
