We have experience working with organizations of all sizes from a diverse range of sectors. VCIC facilitates award-winning workshops and provides expert consultation for institutions across Virginia.

Programs for Workplaces
Consulting
VCIC’s professional staff are trusted thought partners for workplaces across Virginia. Consultation services can guide the development of inclusion plans, can help leaders to foster inclusive climates, can support institutions after conflicts or incidents of bias, and can assist with the development of best-practice policies. Through interactive and collaborative processes, VCIC helps organizations engage employees from all backgrounds and at all levels.
Intercultural Development Inventory®
In an effort to help individuals and groups deepen their ability to understand and work effectively across cultural differences, VCIC utilizes the Intercultural Development Inventory®. The IDI® is a powerful, research-based assessment that measures how people experience and respond to cultural diversity. It helps people see where they are on a continuum of intercultural understanding – from limited awareness of cultural differences to the ability to adapt and connect across cultures.
Organizational Assessments
VCIC can assist you in determining the current state of your organization and identifying opportunities to advance inclusion. Assessments can include qualitative surveys, focus groups, interviews, or a combination of data collection methods. They can also incorporate review of current policies, marketing pieces, or other internal offerings.
Professional Development
VCIC customizes professional development sessions for workplaces of all sizes. Programs can be designed for a specific department or can provide general knowledge and skills for employees across an institution. All programs are highly interactive, and can be designed as a series or a single offering. Many can be offered in person or virtually. Sample topics include:
-
- Communication Skills for Inclusive Workplaces
- Creating a Sense of Belonging
- Foundations of Diversity & Inclusion
- Microaggressions
- Moving from Awareness to Action
- Unconscious Bias 201
