PAS Richmond – Logistical Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Richmond Prejudice Awareness Summit, scheduled for October 18, 2024!
This program has been held in Virginia since 2001, and is designed to bring over 100 middle school students from across a geographic area to discuss ways to combat prejudice in their schools. You can find a report from previous programs held in Richmond and Lynchburg here.
While at the Prejudice Awareness Summit, groups of 12-15 middle school students experience workshops facilitated by co-facilitator teams made up of community and student facilitator-volunteers. Facilitators come from a variety of backgrounds and professions, all with a shared interest in working with young people to promote inclusion and respect.
Logistical volunteers are essential to the implementation of the PAS, helping with a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth execution of the day. Responsibilities include supply distribution and collection, guiding participants to appropriate locations, delivering lunch to student classrooms, and overall setup and cleanup.
Please complete the application by September 27. If you are selected, you will receive an email with directions to our training site and information about parking.
If you have any questions, please contact VCIC’s Administrative Programs Coordinator, Haley Taylor, at [email protected]
We look forward to the chance to work with you!
