DDD Lynchburg – Student Registration

Home 9 Programs 9 Schools 9 DDD Lynchburg – Student Registration

Congratulations!  Your child has been nominated to attend the Lynchburg Diversity Dialogue Day (DDD), scheduled for March 14, 2023.

Thanks to generous donors, this program is offered for free to local schools! DDD is conducted by the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and hosted at the University of Lynchburg.

Diversity Dialogue Day will bring together high school students from public and private schools throughout the Central Virginia area. Students will learn to recognize prejudice and intolerance, and to respect others. They will work closely with their peers from a wide range of ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Students will leave the program with tools they can use to create school and community environments free from the distractions of prejudice, stereotypes, and bigotry.

While at DDD, your child will be led through a series of activities designed to take participants through a process of awareness-to-action. Your child will engage in conversations with their peers about ways to recognize prejudice and respect others. Trained facilitators will guide the students through small group learning activities that explore personal experiences with discrimination and develop conflict resolution skills.

Transportation should be arranged by your student’s school.  Lunch is provided by the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities.

Please complete the registration form to ensure your child’s registration by February 22, 2023.
