Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the annual Lynchburg Diversity Dialogue Day, scheduled for March 3, 2022!

Thanks to support from Dominion Energy, this program is offered for free to local schools! While at DDD, groups of 15-20 high school students experience workshops facilitated by co-facilitator teams made up of community facilitator-volunteers. Facilitators come from a variety of backgrounds and professions, all with a shared interest in working with young people to promote inclusion and respect.

As a volunteer, you will be asked to commit to co-leading a small group of students through their virtual sessions on March 3 from 9:30am-2:30pm. There will be scheduled breaks for stretching and for lunch during these times. Facilitators are also required to attend a mandatory Facilitator Orientation on Thursday, February 24 from 5:30pm – 8:00pm. A Zoom link will be sent in advance of this session. Training will be discussion-based and participatory. Please make sure you are able to attend free from distraction. Please note both the training and Diversity Dialogue Day will be held via Zoom, so you will need a Zoom-capable device.

Please complete the application by February 9. Once you are registered, you will receive the link to attend the training session on February 24.

If you have any questions, please contact VCIC’s Educational Programs Associate Emma Cox.

We look forward to the chance to work with you!
