DDD Tidewater – Facilitator Application

Home 9 Take Action 9 Volunteer 9 DDD Tidewater – Facilitator Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 15th annual Tidewater Diversity Dialogue Day, on March 14, 2024 at Old Dominion University! Held in Virginia since 2010, this program is designed to bring high school students together from across a geographic area to discuss ways to make their schools more inclusive. Reports from previous programs can be found here.

Thanks to support from Dominion Energy, this program is offered for free to local schools! While at DDD, groups of 25-35 high school students experience workshops facilitated by co-facilitator teams made up of community facilitator-volunteers. Facilitators come from a variety of backgrounds and professions, all with a shared interest in working with young people to promote inclusion and respect.

As a volunteer, you will be asked to commit to co-leading a small group of students through their sessions on March 14, 2024 from 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM. Facilitators are also required to attend a mandatory Facilitator Training on March 5, 2024 from 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM at the Old Dominion University – Webb Center. Training will be discussion-based and participatory. Dinner will be provided starting at 5:30 PM

Please complete the application by February 16, 2024. Once you are registered, you will receive information regarding training in the week prior to training.
